Fire Department Clermont Cty, OH

This 14,700 sf, three-story firehouse facility was constructed within the envelope of a two million-gallon, 130-foot tall steel water tower. This Project included three floors plus an intermediate mezzanine, stair and elevator towers all encompassed within the confinement of the 80-foot diameter water storage facility. This facility is headquarters for the 60 full-time members of the Union Township Fire Department. The firehouse includes a bay to house a fire truck and ambulance, along with floors allocated for office, meeting and sleeping quarters.

Summit Behavioral Center Cincinnati, OH

This State facility consists of five separate residence housing structures for long term mentally ill patients. Each structure provides a mechanical mezzanine and a lower level for operations and kitchen services. A common mall, containing a cafeteria, social hall, and a business corridor with services for the residents, interconnects each of the five wings of the structures. The roof structure utilized metal decking supported on a steel joist and beam framing system. Each floor consisted of composite steel beams supporting a reinforced concrete slab.

Delta Concourse B Expansion Boone Cty, KY

This unique building addition was constructed over an existing baggage transfer portal at the Greater Cincinnati – Northern Kentucky International Airport. During the construction of this new building expansion it was critical not to shut down the existing portal for any extended periods. To accomplish this, the floor and roof framing of the existing structure was temporarily supported on a new concrete grade beam cast into the existing fill material while the new concrete deck of the proposed concourse level was built. The deep foundations for the new structure were augured from the existing shored slab, through the existing steel columns supporting the concourse into the bedrock material below. This design approach allowed the construction team to achieve the owner’s objective while saving valuable time and money in the process.
