Wood construction is utilized for one, two and three story low rise structures.  Dimensional lumber, engineered wood trusses, Laminated Veneer Lumber, Glue Laminated Lumber, and I-Joists all play a major role in the construction of modern day buildings.  The connections of wood members are critical to resist lateral and uplift forces due to wind and seismic under current building code requirements.
